In New York State, typically if you have collision, you can submit your repair bills to your own insurance carrier to pay the bills, or you have the option of having those bills paid by the other driver’s carrier. So you typically are given either opportunity on some occasion if you do not yourself do not carry collision on your own vehicle, then you would be looking to the other person’s insurance company to pay that bill.
