What are some of the activities covered under New York Labor Law?

Return to FAQ Videos

Transcript:

The New York State Labor Law envisions a wide variety of activities that one could be injured in at a construction site and actually lists them in the statue, so things like demolition and excavation, painting, things like that are all covered and expressly mentioned in the New York State Labor Law. The only things that are not covered are routine maintenance, but essentially if you’re on a construction site and you’re working there and you get injured it’s covered.

New York State Labor Law does have a specific focus on any issue that dealt with a repair or working at a height, so if you’re on a ladder, if you’re on a scaffold, something like that and the two primary versions of that are if something comes and falls on you or if the worker falls off the height.
